My training was eclectic, but thorough. I spent my high school years playing Bach marimba recitals and jazz gigs on the drumset. Then I earned an undergraduate degree in jazz and contemporary media, followed by graduate degrees in classical percussion and composition. Through all of that my love of Hindustani music from India kept me traveling around the globe pursuing studies in tabla drumming.

Playing with Alarm Will Sound is a deeply fulfilling experience. I'm always interested in working on the frontiers of human experience, especially in sound. I remember thinking in high school how amazing it would be to be a member of a large ensemble that was creative and fun and where I could take advantage of all of my interests and talents.

I'm also an amateur arachnologist; I have a collection of over 50 tarantulas.
