In cooperation with Oxfam America, a global organization working to end the injustice of poverty, Alarm Will Sound presents The Hunger, a modern cantata by Donnacha Dennehy. All net proceeds from the performance will be donated to Oxfam.
There will be a special pre-concert lecture at 7:30pm with Fatema Sumar, Oxfam America’s Vice President of Global Programs, and Alan Pierson, Alarm Will Sound’s Artistic Director, moderated by Gavin Chuck, AWS Executive Director. They will discuss how The Hunger touches on social economic themes that are still relevant today.
